My neighborhood, Sunday morning

Early on Sunday mornings, life on this otherwise busy block of Washington Blvd. is pretty quiet.  The parking lot in front of the next-door strip-mall is vacant until about noon when the thrift store and second-hand clothing store open.  And it's fairly drab. But around the corner with McKinley St., the Westover Farmers Market comes to colorful life, as vendors unload trucks and set up their stands before the 8:00 a.m. opening.  An hour later, things are happening there - - but not yet on Washington Blvd.  So follow me and walk down to the corner, crossing over to the pink donut truck on McKinley and have a look at some of my favorites.

My daylilies enhance the end of the parking lot.

Note the presence of small children. When we moved to this neighborhood in 1983 there were very very few young families.  Not so, now.
